NTC Hosting Editorial Review

NTC Hosting is proud to offer “web hosting built on the right path.” Is this something to be proud of?

NTC Hosting Homepage

Here’s all you need to know right here, right now, in this review of NTC Hosting. Let’s take a look.

At First Glance

Having landed on the NTC Hosting website, I was a little shocked and taken aback by its monotonous aesthetics. The site itself was incredibly simple, almost textual. For some, it may look a little depressing, not something that makes you think about staying and looking around.

However, it’s not always the outside that matters. Technical things are much more important. There were a couple there that I found very reassuring.

The 99.9% uptime guarantee is the business standard for most large companies, and it’s nice to see that NTC is fully committed to it. NTC Hosting also provides you with a selection of 5 countries where you can host your website! That is a great option!

Alas, the situation has changed for the worse.

I tried the NTC Hosting control panel that they offered you as part of their packages and found it quite confusing. I also found that both hosting and email crashed at least once a week when I was testing it.

NTC Hosting Pricing

NTC Hosting Pricing Review

NTC Hosting is pretty well priced. Packages start at only $4.95 per month (with annual payments as an option), and each includes a free domain and web collector.

Let’s see what you get for your money:

NTC Hosting Pricing

NTC Hosting is pretty well priced. Packages start at only $4.95 per month (with annual payments as an option), and each includes a free domain and web collector.

Let’s see what you get for your money:

The table shows that the plans are not very different. You get most of the essential things in all the plans.

The main differences between the plans come down to databases and automation, such as Cron jobs, databases, and mailing lists. So here is an additional table that highlights these differences for the different plans.

Budget ($4.95/month) Value ($7.95/month) Plus ($9.95/month) Executive ($14.95/month)
MySQL v.5 databases 5 100 500 Unlimited
PostgreSQL v9.2 databases Optional 5 20 Unlimited
Cron jobs 1 5 20 Unlimited
Mailing lists 1 20 Unlimited Unlimited

As its name suggests, the tariff plan offers the best value for money. It has the same characteristics as the Budget plan, but covers an unlimited number of areas, while the Budget plan covers only one area.

Note: These prices are based on annual payments.

NTC Hosting Performance

I ran the BitCatcha test to check what NTC Hosting provided in the speed department.

The results were satisfactory, although, in Asia, the results were much slower than in the West. However, this is to be expected, as the NTC Hosting server has not yet been created in Asia.

To sum up

Although my first impressions were not great, I am a big fan of a free domain and multi-server locations – USA, UK, Australia, Finland, or Bulgaria.

In general, I found NTC Hosting worthy of a 30-day trial. Its prices are reasonable, and it also throws in its unique additions. The only drawback is the general decline, but I would advise you to try it yourself.

Pros

  • Free domain included in all packages
  • Select one of the five server locations
  • Round-the-clock and daily customer service

Cons

  • Average response time
  • Site reliability issues
