Vultr Editorial Review & Aggregated Reddit Reviews
Vultr 01
Vultr is my first choice. Their servers tend to be the fastest, they rarely have any meaningful outages, and support has not presented any issues.

I am using vultr $5 plan for my wordpress blog.
It got traffic of 1500 per day and it is handling that much pretty easily.
Using it from last 2-3 months, no issue at all.

Vultr would be my pick, although I haven’t used Linode. Vultr VPSes, in my experience, probably have the best networking performance (from NJ location). I’ve been able to download at 3-4gbps from a $10 VPS easily, similarly, upload performance is also very good. Vultr also offers more features compared to DigitalOcean and Linode and even gives you the ability to upload ISO files. But overall, price to performance on Vultr really good.

Vultr has been the best for me in terms of performance and price. Digital Ocean have been losing both of those battles. 200 visitors is very few and a 1 GB Vultr VPS properly optimized (along with your site) is going to be way more than enough unless the site is experiencing issues.

I’ve been using VULTR since they started and I absolutely love them. Performance is great, lots of locations, and I like that you can upload custom ISOs.

Vultr will give you SSH access to a clean OS or an image with some preinsatlled packages, but they are not managed. Their support would be only to the point of the server when it was handed over to you. They wont (as far as I know) troubleshoot website issues, or install patches etc.
Managed webhosting service != unmanaged infrastructure

Are you looking for a hosting provider that focuses on cloud technology? Vultr is one of the growing companies with a specific goal – 100% customer satisfaction.
Their services are more developer-oriented, and they can boast of their high-end SSD servers.
Vultr is a modern hosting company. So you will always get the latest technology from them. That is the reason why they continue to grow even after their launch in 2014.
Now they have more than 100,000 clients, 17 million cloud servers, and more than 50 developers in their team.
The question remains – can they provide simple, high-performance, reliable cloud hosting?
To help you do this, we’ve taken apart each part and collected all the information you need in this Vultr overview.
So take a step back and go through this overview before you make your last call.
What is Vultr?
Vultr will not offer you typical hosting plans like other hosting providers.
Their primary focus is on servers. Vultr provides a wide range of servers to choose from.
They also offer the latest generation semiconductor drives along with a control panel. They have 15 different servers around the world, and it only takes a few minutes to subscribe to one of their server plans.
Vultr pricing
Currently, Vultr offers four types of server options to choose from. Their prices range from $0.004/h ($2.50/month) to $1000/month, depending on the product you select.
All four classes have different features and are provided expressly to meet the needs of different types of users. In this part of the Vultr overview, we will look at what they do and for whom they are good.
Vultr Cloud Compute
That is the equivalent of a classic VPS version. The best thing about hosting is that you don’t have to make long-term commitments. They will give you the ability to deploy anywhere on the server.
You will get a dedicated IP address along with full administrative access to the server. The option also includes any choice of the operating system along with a great multifunction control panel and a reliable API.
Naked metal
Want more customization options? Then Wooltra’s Naked Metal plans might suit you. They are similar to dedicated servers, but with more configuration options. That’s why they’re so easy to set up and get started.
With this plan, you will have full control over your environment as well as complete administrative access to the server.
If you are in need of a more powerful option, Bare Metal can be an ideal one.
Block drive
Many ISPs are trying to tell us that their hosting is not a storage solution. Disk space seems unlimited, but once you start storing files, you get banned.
If that doesn’t suit you, then look no further than Vultr’s Cloud Block Storage. It’s 99.999% affordable and offers up to 10 terabytes of storage for just 10 cents per GB per month.

What other opportunities does Vultr offer you?
Vultr is not your usual hosting provider – here is why:
A custom control panel
Vultr provides its control panel, which is very easy to use. Server deploy takes just a few seconds and less than a minute to set up! Besides, you can see the overall status of your server right from the control panel.
The interface is quite intriguing, simple, and convenient.
Hourly rate
What we liked about Wooltere was their hourly pay. That way, you don’t have to go on a long-term commitment with them. All their hosting plans go with hourly rates. In simple words, you’ll only pay for the time you use them.
Some companies want you to pay for years in advance. Vultr allows you not to pay.
Pros
There are quite a few things we liked about this provider:
Speedy response time
That shows what equipment is used and what kind of work engineers do. Vultr comfortably responds to requests for around 200 ms, making it one of the fastest VPS variants.
Excellent uptime
With their fast running servers in 15 different locations, you rarely see downtime. They provide 99.99% uptime.
Downloading server plans
With hourly rates and many options in four of their categories, Vultr offers both flexible payments and multiple plans. Developers will easily find the ideal choice.
Cons
However, not everything is perfect. Some things were not so good – so be careful with these issues if you decide to start using Vultr.
Only cloud and dedicated hosting
Indeed, it will be easy for developers to choose a plan.
Beginners? Not really.
Vultr does not play with shared hosting or, for example, with managed WordPress hosting plans.
That is intended for professionals, not less experienced users who are looking for hosting for the site.
No customer support options
These are modern times – and most hosting providers offer live chats as a way to contact customer service. Unfortunately, you can only reach Vultr by email and phone.
To sum up Vultr Review
With plenty of great options and reasonable prices. Vultr is an excellent option for data storage, VPS, and dedicated hosting. The performance also meets the bill – Vultr servers are fast and reliable.
However, Vultr can try to be more versatile. When selling domains and more hosting types, they may attract even more users. And additional customer support features will not hurt either. In general, it is quite a decent option.
The pros are
- Excellent response time.
- Different hosting plans
- 99.99% uptime
Cons
- No live chat.
- Limited services
- Price

v0.1.5.1
GRIN games emerged
As a web agency we never could and never will be able to escape the urge of building things.
Among million other things we played with an idea of text-based games and the last piece that was missing
was the story itself. So via in-house outreach platform we found two
established writers that believed in the project and agreed to participate.
Shout out to Richard Abbott who wrote Fraud on Thetis and Eva Pohler who sent us a huge draft we are still reading through.
v0.1.4
GRIN launcher is born.
It is an outreach platform that we use to establish connections with editorial teams.
They say samples of published articles look good
but pricing looks even better
At some point we realised that list building, fetching contact details & outreach tech work just as well for b2b lead generation
v0.1.3
Once, we fell in love with ecommerce, because of short feedback cycles on marketing & development efforts.
Today we ship into production
inhouse SaaS project - AVOKADO - the web
app for learning languages with flash cards.
The year after we built it we realised how long is the road map ahead & what resources we'd need to promote it and decided to put it on hold.
One day as we ship GRIN tech v3.0 into production we'll distrupt the language learning market with Avokado.
We love Wordpress and recently shipped two plugins into open beta for commercial sale.
v0.1.2.2 King The Monk - wordpress plugin to virally grow your email list
v0.1.2.1 Plain Conversions - wordpress plugin to convert your visitors
v0.1.1. Expanded core offering to visual productions
v0.1
It's Autumn 2017 and GRIN tech agency's website is born.
We have it saved for the history.
