Check out SuiteCRM. Fully open source, free to download for self-hosting so the data never leaves your computer if you don’t want it to. Or you can host it on an Amazon or Google Cloud server. I believe it can do click to dial with a plugin. It’s going to take you some time though to learn how to configure it for your needs, but is free, so maybe a time vs. money argument here.

SuiteCRM does a lot of what you need, and you can disable any module you don’t need. It does have a learning curve, but is very powerful, and has an active community.

If you plan on expand further, add more people, etc. It can be expensive and all your data are on there. Will be hard to move.
I’d suggest to try a fully free open-source CRM like suiteCRM.

SuiteCRM is free and open source CRM software version. Some people say that it is a perfect alternative to SugarCRM although it uses other open source ad ons to make it more powerful than its close alternative. The top benefit with the suite is that it offers a preconfigured version especially for the users without the ability to install it or configure it in house. Download free CRM software. The suite also offers a premium version (for those who may need to upgrade) for £10 roughly $16/a month.

About SuiteCRM: the main problem i had was that my (shared) WebHost did not have certain PHP libs activated so i had to changem them via a custom php.ini – that said, the problem can be with cheaper webhosts that they do not allow you to do so, what means you will not be able to even install the CRM.
In general: the SuiteCRM is great. I had absolutely no clue about the CRM-terms but their manual even teaches you a bit about all those differences between accounts, countacts, leads etc….
BUT: what i prefered is to have the CRM on my own server and then use one of the many android apps that connects to said server. Why i like it, is because the UI of the CRM is IMHO not perfect for beginners like me. But with said apps it is easier to maintain the CRM.
Oh and another problem: the CRM has a IMHO awful email client option. It is very hard to follow the messages you have send to people and also to set up the server system. That is, as i think, because you can create one catach-all e-mail with your webhost (for example crm@mydomain.com) and SuiteCRM handles who within your team the mail is forwarded to.

In installed SuiteCRM on my own server and it works fine. It is more that i reminisce the days were you downloaded a software and it was on your deive without needing a cloud-account or an online-connection.

I dinked around for a day setting up a VM to run SuiteCRM, before I realized it was included for free with our GoDaddy account. We’ve been using it for 6 months or so, and it meets all the needs we have.

Some years back my boss asked me to find an alternative to Salesforce due to cost. After a lot of research we ended up going with SuiteCRM. Self hosted, free, and open. A lot of the “modules” were so similar that the migration was actually quite painless.

SuiteCRM will give you the most Salesforce like feeling. We were a little intimidated by all the extra features.

We switched our CRM from Salesforce to SuiteCRM and have not looked back. It does include an invoicing module as well.
I think it could be well adapted to work in an auto shop.

If you’re looking for reminders and the ability to keep track of client appointments and similar, I’ll also echo the recommendation for SuiteCRM…BUT, you’ll need to make sure you’re willing to spend some time customizing it. Out of the box, it’s really focused on the traveling salesman as a its core demographic. I’ve actually customized it enough to work as a documentation system for a therapist’s office without need to write a line of code, so it is very flexible…but it took many hours to make that work. Be ready for that, add its invoicing module, and that may be your better bet.

My Name is Dhanpal and I am SuiteCRM, SugarCRM expert. I would love to have the opportunity to discuss your project with you.
If you need CRM for your business, SuiteCRM is an award-winning enterprise-class, powerful, highly customizable, free and open source Customer Relationship Management application. Some of the world’s largest companies are choosing SuiteCRM.
The main benefits of SuiteCRM as compared to Salesforce or other CRMs are the free self-hosted edition and the extensive customization abilities, especially for organizations looking for something akin to an open-source CRM application. SuiteCRM offers extensive customization. It comes in a (free!) self-hosted open-source Community edition. If given choice in CRM space, I would recommend SuiteCRM (Open source CRM solution).

I’ve used SuiteCRM for a few years now, its buggy and frustrating (especially email integration) but yes, it could be setup for this. It has all the components required, but in my experience they tend to be pretty basic. I am a fan of the scheduler and the auditing ability though.
I’d be more inclined to believe there must be something out there designed for this purpose, because I’ll guarantee you will eventually spend time hacking the hell out of Suite to make it fit for purpose.

v0.1.5.1
GRIN games emerged
As a web agency we never could and never will be able to escape the urge of building things.
Among million other things we played with an idea of text-based games and the last piece that was missing
was the story itself. So via in-house outreach platform we found two
established writers that believed in the project and agreed to participate.
Shout out to Richard Abbott who wrote Fraud on Thetis and Eva Pohler who sent us a huge draft we are still reading through.
v0.1.4
GRIN launcher is born.
It is an outreach platform that we use to establish connections with editorial teams.
They say samples of published articles look good
but pricing looks even better
At some point we realised that list building, fetching contact details & outreach tech work just as well for b2b lead generation
v0.1.3
Once, we fell in love with ecommerce, because of short feedback cycles on marketing & development efforts.
Today we ship into production
inhouse SaaS project - AVOKADO - the web
app for learning languages with flash cards.
The year after we built it we realised how long is the road map ahead & what resources we'd need to promote it and decided to put it on hold.
One day as we ship GRIN tech v3.0 into production we'll distrupt the language learning market with Avokado.
We love Wordpress and recently shipped two plugins into open beta for commercial sale.
v0.1.2.2 King The Monk - wordpress plugin to virally grow your email list
v0.1.2.1 Plain Conversions - wordpress plugin to convert your visitors
v0.1.1. Expanded core offering to visual productions
v0.1
It's Autumn 2017 and GRIN tech agency's website is born.
We have it saved for the history.
